Ideas for Remodeling Outdoor Living Spaces

In recent years, homeowners have changed the way they view their homes and reevaluated how they function. Redoing kitchens, living spaces, offices, and bathrooms are still our most popular projects, and we’ve seen an increase in interest in transforming outdoor spaces.

Outdoor kitchens used to consist of a grill paired with a table and chairs, the necessities of a good summer hang out if you ask me. Homeowners today are looking to amp things up! Outdoor spaces are including ventilation, refrigeration, storage cabinets, and more. They act as an extension of the indoor kitchen and family room and can be used for everything from entertaining groups of friends to lounging with the family.

Here are a few things we suggest considering when you are planning your outdoor kitchen and living area:

Outdoor spaces act as an extension of your home. To connect your spaces, we recommend adding glass doors and windows between your outdoor and indoor entertainment spaces. When designed with similar colors and features, you will have a seamless flow between the two spaces. It’s perfect for entertaining!

Don’t give up on your dreams of having more amenities outside. Manufacturers are upping their game when it comes to producing products for outdoor spaces, with refrigeration, countertops, sinks, faucets, and other items being designed with UV protection and special coatings to withstand the harshest outdoor elements.

Adding a full working kitchen outdoors with cooking stations, refrigeration for beverages, dishwasher, and sinks for prep and clean up make it easy to entertain a group outside.

Consider adding a bar to your outdoor space. Whether you add an area for beer on tap, a mini bar with your favorite options, or go all out with a full-sized version – we think it’s a great addition for anyone who likes to entertain.

If you have the space, include multiple areas for guests to mingle and relax. A firepit for roasting marshmallows is always a great addition, and be sure to add a cozy spot for you to take an afternoon snooze.

We hope these have given you some things to think about as you start planning your new outdoor space. We can’t wait to chat with you about your project when you’re ready to start planning! Our team is excited to help create the outdoor oasis you’ve been dreaming of!
