This family needed to update their kitchen. They hosted most of their family gatherings with their children, grandchildren, and extended family. Their original kitchen space was tight so they were not able to have everyone gathered in the kitchen at once. The space was semi functional, some items did move, but changing from old outdated cabinets to new cabinets actually gave them the additional space they needed in the kitchen. Removing the overhang for the stove vent made the space feel more relaxed and inviting and adding a seating area to the island gave the grandchildren somewhere to sit when grandma and grandpa were making lunch or goodies. This family spent a great deal of time working through what would be best for them, their family, and their finances during the design process which made their end result exactly what they wanted!
