Mitch Speck, CR, CKBR

Since opening our business in April 1992, I have always remained dedicated to my family, my clients, my community and my career. In 1989, I married Debbie while studying civil engineering at Portland State University. I also joined a civil engineering unit for the Oregon Air National Guard where I served for over nine years.

I’ve determined that continuing my education is one of the keys to success. In 2005, I completed the Certified Remodeler course through NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) and in 2007 I furthered my education by becoming a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler. In order to maintain these professional designations, I am required to complete over 10 hours of continuing education annually and serve either in the remodeling industry or in the community. In addition to these national certifications, I am also a certified Lead Based Paint Renovator in Oregon.

Another key to success is playing an active role in my community and industry. In 2005, I joined the Oregon Remodelers Association’s Board of Directors where I served as Treasurer in 2006, Chairman in 2007 and Past Chair in 2008. Also in 2007, I served as the President of the Portland NARI chapter. In 2007 and 2008, I served nationally as the Chair for NARI’s Strategic Planning Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee.

Over the last few years, I have focused my passion to lead closer to home. Although I currently remain a member of NARI’s Strategic Planning Committee, in 2011 I joined the Board of Directors for the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce where I currently serve in the office of Secretary. I was also asked to join the board for the Sandy FFA Alumni Association where I serve as Vice-President.

I have always pursued excellence in my endeavors. Among my most memorable awards and achievements are achieving the rank of Eagle scout, being selected as Airman of the Year for the USAF 142nd Fighter Interceptor Group, and receiving the NARI President’s Award.

The work I do fulfills my desire to serve my community and allows me to express my creativity and utilize my engineering background.
